About WHY WE NEED TO CHANGE HABITS…. THE BASIC ONES
It all started when…I started living in India and found out that water is sooooooo much more pleasant…… when the end is good……… in the future we dont use toiletpaper - AT LEAST NOT AS WE KNOW IT TODAY……
THIS POSTING APPEARED ON ONE OF THE FB WALLS ONE OF MY INDIAN FRIENDS - IM POSTING HERE WHAT I WROTE BELOW - I SINCERELY HOPE (AND THINK THAT THIS IS THE LEAST) THAT MOST OF MY WESTERN FRIENDS COULD START TO DO - FOR THE SAKE OF THE FUTURE OF YOUR KIDS - THIS IS NOT A JOKE - THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF TOILETPAPER IS ONE OF THE MANY INSANE PROJECTS OF HOMO STUPIDUS - IT HAS TO CHANGE - ASAP...AND THE BUM GUN IS A VERY EASY AND SIMPLE SOLUTION THAT ANYONE WHO HAS A TOILET CAN HAVE INSTALLED - OR YOU CAN USE A BUCKET, WHICH IS WHAT I PERSONALLY DO - SO THERES NO EXCUSE REALLY. MY COMMENT TO Naresh V Narasimhan´s s post below:
Im a "converted"
Was taught to do it "right" in India and have ever since been promoting water. However there are some issues. First is the hand washing part which no matter how u do it is extremely important - and using a lot of hot water is - depending on the way the water is heated - also an environmental issue of dimensions. The baby wipers is totally unacceptable from an environmental point of view (at least the way they are manufactured now). Wipers are often full of perfumes and nasty chemicals - and the wiper itself often contains synthetic fibres that do not break down fast in the sea, rivers, lakes etc. (where a lot of our human waste still goes in many parts of the world) or the wastewater treatment systems which we use here in Denmark fx. At the end of the day probably the most important is that you Indians PLEASE keep pushing for water since if you guys with rest of the world who are not wiping start using toilet paper, then we might end up using all our trees for this insanity - and very unhygienic action. BUT teaching westerners to stop this bad habit I can tell u is VERY difficult...but we need to "convert" them...for the sakes of their bums as well as - or even more important - for the sake of our forests and that way way also the oxygen for future generation - maybe slightly exaggerated - nevertheless unfortunately a very realistic scenario... this article ONLY describes the issues in Canada - some say its even worse in Russia, Sweden etc. where vast amounts of forest is turned into - TOILETPAPER -
