why SPLASHFORMANCE?

why SPLASHFORMANCE?

SPLASHFORMANCE is a way for me to work where I not only express myself creatively / artistically and actually do a show or a talk or fusion - its also about making “statements” since SPLASHFORMANCE for me is about many issues:

SENSUSTAINABILITY

SPLASHFORMANCE is first and foremost about showing that its possible to express yourself – as a free creative spirit – in so many ways and still be highly aware of the matter you perform with – AND do your performance as SENSUSTAINABLE as possible. NOW you can read more about SENSUSTAINABILITY elsewhere – but the short version is that SENSUSTAINABILITY is a word or notion I designed that I think misses in today world – namely a fusion of SENSUAL and SUSTAINABLE – or to say it in a different way SENSUAL SUSTAINABILITY – since that’s what REALLY needed if you ask me.

And for me to not only do is an act of SENSUSTAINABILITY – the final outcomes are for me also “COSMIC CHAOTIC the SPLASHFORMANCE SENSUSTAINABLE whatever’s”… see some here or go to a page Im building where you will see the SPLASHFORMANCE works or “whatever´s” – since it takes many shapes.

THE FREE SPIRIT – read my mind…good brain exercise

I have written elsewhere about creativity and self expressionism – but being THE FREE SPIRIT and doing exactly what you feel like on a giant canvas is not only very therapeutical its also very “demanding” mentally – good for myself – as well as for the viewer and the eventual buyer of a final piece – theres lots to see in these works – its not just paint splashed on a canvas or a vase or whatever – theres a subconscious dimension to it all….

THE COSMIC CHAOS

And yes for me this kind of work represents what I call COSMIC CHAOS – since that’s what it is – it all starts in chaos – and somehow when they paint has dried etc. there is (not always) a very cosmic dimension to some of the pieces (certainly not all) – see for yourself.

JUST BECAUSE I CANT RESIST

And yes JUST BECAUSE I CANT RESIST – I LOVE working this way – it demands a lot of energy to set it up – and to take its down and do the needed work finish – (or at least kind of finish the final works, since will they ever be ready I always ask myself?)

SELF EXPRESSIONISM

Its at the same time to show that you can do tons of SELF EXPRESSIONISM – or ART with matter or substances that you maybe thought would be waste - making viewers understand a bit about sustainable principles – and nature – and NON-nature.

SPLASHFORMANCE-PAINT / materials

One of the the aim with the INTER-ACTIVE SPLASHFORMANCE-PAINT is for viewers of the SPLASHFORMANCE to be able to ”interact” through choosing what color / structure / matter that will be used in the SPLASHFORMANCE. This depends on what is available of fx. local materials.

There are several categories of SPLASHFORMANCE-PAINT – but the 2 main categories are:

-       NATMAT - Natural matter – this could be a lot of various ”matter” – there are endless possibilities. Artwork done this way can when I make them be turned into gardens afterwards since they often contain seeds. So NATMAT artwork is basically 100% biodegradable.

-       SYNMAT - Synthetic matter – this is primerally old waste paint of any kind that otherwise would be thrown away or other matter from petro chemicals – splashed on to surfaces that likewise are waste materials. All SYNMAT artwork will be rather toxic to dispose of (as all MIXED synthetic materials normally are) it will most of the time be non recyclable and if you or when a SPLASHFORMANCE SYNMAT PAINT artwork needs to be disposed of it need to go to controlled incineration – same as all paintings done with acryllics needs to.

 A main and very important dimension in SPLASHFORMANCE PAINT is talking about and demonstrating how and why NOT to mix substances together that dont ”like each other” since an artwork that way becomes an environmental physical problem as well – however maybe its more the thinking behind that we need to consider. Mixing 2 main categories NATMAT & SYNMAT is NOT a good idea since nature can split the 2 matters apart again without creating a lot of pollution – so therefore they should not be mixed.

Hopefully SPLASHFORMANCE PAINT can help some of us understand a bit about basic natural principle and how we can avoid pollution - teach your kids this and we are a bit closer to solving the big crisis – at home….I call it appropriate creativity & art.

LOKAL SUMMER EXHIBITION 2024

Another SPLASHFORMANCE was done July 28th 2024 at LOKAL NORMANDY as part of the vernisage for the open summer exhibition.
